Every Etsy fee in one place, and when each one hits
Etsy's fees are spread across several help pages, and some are charged on things sellers don't expect, like the shipping the buyer paid. Here they are in the order they hit a sale. The rates are Etsy's standard US rates as we last knew them; Etsy changes fees and they vary by country, so check the Fees & Payments Policy before you rely on them.
Fees on every sale

Two details catch people out:
- The listing fee repeats when an item sells. If you sell 3 of the same item in one order, the listing renews for each (3 x $0.20), so multi-quantity orders pay more listing fees than you might think.
- The transaction fee includes shipping. A $5 shipping charge costs you about $0.33 in transaction fee before postage is even paid.
Fees on some sales
- Offsite Ads. If a buyer clicks one of Etsy's ads on another site and buys within 30 days, Etsy charges a percentage of that order: 15% for most shops, 12% for shops that made over $10,000 in the past 12 months (for whom the programme is compulsory). It's capped at $100 per order.
- Currency conversion. If your listings are priced in a different currency from your payment account, Etsy adds a conversion fee.
- Regulatory operating fee. In some countries Etsy adds a small percentage to cover local digital taxes.
Optional fees
Etsy Ads (onsite), Etsy Plus, shipping labels bought through Etsy, and Share & Save credits all change your real cost per sale. The calculator leaves them out; add them to "your costs" if you use them.
A worked $24 sale
An item at $24 with $5 shipping (buyer pays $29 before tax), no Offsite Ad:
